Outdoor sessions generally need to be scheduled when Denver’s natural light is at its warmest and most flattering. This is truly dependent on the weather, time of day, and time of year. Morning sessions are available for clients who want softer, cooler light.

We generally schedule outdoor sessions during the morning hours when natural light is warmest and most flattering. Morning sessions start at different times depending on the season. Midday sessions in harsh direct sun are not recommended.
Solid colors generally photograph better than busy patterns outdoors. Choose tones that complement your location — warmer colors work well against brick and stone backdrops in LoDo and RiNo, while cooler neutrals and jewel tones suit Cherry Creek and Washington Park settings. Bring two outfit options. Christina will send location-specific wardrobe guidance when you confirm your session.
We’ll reschedule at no charge. Denver weather can change quickly and we won’t shoot in conditions that compromise the quality of your photos — flat overcast light, direct harsh sun, or incoming storms. Rescheduling is straightforward and we’ll find a new date that works.
Outdoor sessions typically run 30 to 45 minutes depending on potential outfit changes. The additional time accounts for moving between spots within the location, adjusting to changing light, and capturing the variety of backgrounds and expressions that make outdoor sessions valuable.
We don’t normally accommodate both simply because we have to travel to and from locations. If you require both studio and outdoor, we ask that you schedule two separate sessions.
